We attend the Church of Christ in Nocona, where we are active members. John and I help with Bible classes and he helps with the sound system during the service.

I am on the board of directors of the chamber of commerce, where I have served as Vice President and President. I am also on the Keep Nocona Beautiful Board, serving as president at this time. I am a part of the PIE, a mentoring group through the school system.

John Morris, Jr. Managing Funeral Director

I grew up around the funeral home, with my parents and granddad being funeral directors. My grandparents lived in the funeral home, so visiting them meant being in the funeral home all the time. After graduating from Nocona high school, I went to Abilene Christian University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministry. After several years of full-time youth ministry, I decided to be a funeral director and went to Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. I graduated in May 2015 and then came home to serve families in Nocona and the surrounding area.

While I deeply enjoyed my time in youth ministry, I am honored to serve in a different ministry now, serving families in their time of deepest need and grief.

When not at the funeral home, I also work alongside my dad and Heather, as well as our coworker Nikki, at Scott-Morris Hardware store.

I am honored to be the third generation of our family to be a funeral director, and to be part of the funeral home that has been such a huge part of my life.

Our funeral home has been serving Montague county since about 1885, and Nocona since the late 1940s, and I look forward to our family supporting and serving our community for many years to come.
