Scott-Morris Funeral Home has been serving Nocona area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.
Scott Morris Funeral Home is family owned and operated. Mr. W.L. Scott's family came here in the early 1900’s. W.L. ran the local hardware store and funeral home from the same building, later the house was remodeled into the funeral home.and the two businesses were separated. Mr. Howard Morris came to work for W.L. in 1950, and made his family’s home upstairs of the funeral home, which he still lives there.
John was born and raised here and like his father - went to school for a degree in mortuary science. John and I married in January of 1990, and the Business put me through school . I went to school in Dallas (as did John) graduating in 1995. John and I worked for the Scott-Morris Family, and then I became Funeral Director in Charge, and John and I became the owners.
We concentrate our services on our community, but many, many times we have families from afar who call on us. We feel it an honor to be called - a motto we use is "Serving our Community with Dignity". Many families who call on us, have done so for many generations, and consider us their family. We feel blessed to be in that role. We can offer many types of funerals - cremation and even donations - if that is what is desired. We strive to give personal service and give ourselves to the families who need us.
