Wayne Kilpatrick passed away on August 25, 2026. Born on November 8, 1947, to Birl Kilpatrick and Carmer Lizzie McCubbins Kilpatrick, Wayne grew up in Nocona, Texas, a place that remained an important part of his life.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home from his military service, he began a career in the oilfield, where he spent many years working hard and building a life for himself.

Wayne enjoyed life to the fullest and found happiness in the simple things he loved most. Some of his favorite times were spent fishing along the Red River with friends and enjoying his Harley-Davidson days. Those who knew Wayne knew him as a man of few words, but the words he did speak mattered. Beneath his quiet nature was a heart of gold, especially when it came to the people he loved.

Wayne is survived by his children, Carma Kilpatrick Culpepper-Parker, Wanda Wares, David Kilpatrick, Lisa Williams, and Gabriel Kilpatrick; his 11 grandchildren; and his sisters, Sue Kaiser, Birl Lene Glaze and her husband, Elton, Darlene Hunter and her husband, John, and Arlene Goff and her husband, Johnny.

Wayne also leaves behind Vivian Fatheree, who shared a very special bond with him and held a place in his heart much like that of a daughter. Their relationship was one of deep love, loyalty, and friendship, and she remained faithfully by his side, caring for him throughout the later years of his life.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Birl and Carmer Kilpatrick; his sisters, Patsy Kilpatrick, Wanda Kilpatrick and Betty Smith; and his brothers, Jerry Kilpatrick and David Kilpatrick.

Wayne leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the people who were fortunate enough to know and love him. His quiet nature, his love of the outdoors, his Harley-Davidson days, and most of all, the heart he had for those he loved will not be forgotten.

The memories Wayne leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne’s loved ones will host a visitation celebrating Wayne’s life, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at The Turquoise Owl, 18654 FM 103, Nocona, Texas 76255.
