Theresa Michele Moss

Theresa Michele "Sissy" Moss passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in Nocona, Texas, at the age of 72.

Sissy was born on November 28, 1952, at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas, to Robert Fountain Smith Jr. and Laquita Jo Mills Smith.

Sissy met her soul-mate Danny Ray Moss, and they married in 1985 at Bald Prairie Baptist Church near Kosse, TX. They loved each other deeply and faithfully all the rest of their lives.

Sissy worked hard all her life. She served at the Mexia State School, owned a siding business with Danny, and was a devoted homemaker.

From a young age, Sissy had a natural gift for caring for others, a gift she would go on to share throughout her life both personally and professionally.

A licensed caregiver by trade, Sissy found her true purpose in caring for others. She poured her heart into looking after her family members, many of whom she lovingly cared for in their times of need. Always selfless, she preferred to be the one giving care rather than receiving it, a testament to her deep compassion and strength. Her kindness and thoughtfulness touched everyone around her.

Beyond her care giving, Sissy found joy in the simple and creative pleasures of life. She was a talented seamstress, often sewing drapes, crocheting, and knitting gifts for loved ones. Her handiwork was a reflection of the love and patience she carried in her heart.

A devoted Christian, Sissy was most recently a dedicated member of Montague Cowboy Church.

Sissy is preceded in death by her husband Danny, her parents, and by her grandparents Luci and Rasco Mills.

Sissy is survived by her brother, Calvert "Bubba" Smith; her sister, Luci "Tootie" James, and husband Travis; her nieces and nephews: Michelle Sanders, Bobby Smith and wife Shelly, and Niki Smith; her great-nieces: Laurie Kirkner, Tara Smith, Payton Smith, McKenzi Smith, Nakol Smith, and Milee-Rae Jackson; and great-nephews: John Castlow and Raymond Castlow. She also leaves behind numerous great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Sissy's family will honor her life and legacy with a memorial service at a later date.

Her generous spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
