Ronnie Lynn Stewart

Ronnie Lynn Stewart, known to family and friends as Ronnie, was born in Bowie, Texas, and graduated from high school in Nocona, Texas.

Ronnie was an outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed hunting and fishing. During high school, he especially enjoyed playing football and running track. In his later years, he continued to enjoy watching sports and following the games.

Ronnie proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. Following his military service, he worked on an oilfield drilling rig, attended the police academy, and later worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDC). He went on to work as a security guard at WinStar Casino, where he remained until his retirement. He was a long time board member of the Longbranch Cemetery.

Ronnie was quick-witted, lighthearted, and always ready with a joke. He enjoyed making people laugh and had a sense of humor that those who knew him will remember. He also had a favorite place to spend his time: his rocking chair. Whether relaxing at home or simply enjoying a quiet moment, Ronnie was happiest in his chair.

Ronnie is survived by his children, James Stewart, Michelle Hodges, and Austin Stewart; his grandchildren, James Stewart, Colton Stewart, Brady Tompkins, Hailey Tompkins, Makenzie Mauldin, and Isaiah Stewart; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ronnie will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of the outdoors, his quick wit, and the time he shared with his family. He leaves behind many memories and a family who will carry those memories with them.

His service will be Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 12:00pm at Longbranch Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Longbranch Cemetery Association.
