Bland Thurman Berry

Bland Therman "Okie" Berry of Scroggins, TX was born August 9, 1934, in Ringling, Oklahoma, and departed this life on September 16, 2026, in Winnsboro, Texas.

Okie retired from Oncor Electric Company after 20 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed singing, watching Texas Cowboy football, working in his yard, mowing around his neighborhood on his lawn tractor, and driving his 1994 Lincoln Town Car.

He is survived by his son Chris Berry of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; grandson Bryan Berry of Mansfield, Texas and two great grandsons; sister Jeannette Pemberton of Henryetta, Oklahoma; brother Joe Berry and wife Barbara of Kyle, Texas; brother Roger Berry and wife Ginger of Waurika, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his son Randy Berry; father, William Taylor Berry; mother, Gertrude Berry; and sisters Jenny Abshire and Geneva Brave.

The family would like to thank the staff of Avir Skilled Nursing in Winnsboro, especially Lea Ann, for their care of Okie during the past few months.

Family will receive guests Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 10 AM at Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Graveside services immediately following at Nocona Cemetery.
