Mando Alcantar

Dec 21, 2010 — Nov 1, 2026

=================

Armando "Mando" Antonio Alcantar, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and cherished member of the Nocona community, passed away far too soon on November 1, 2026, at the young age of 15. Born with a vibrant spirit and an unwavering work ethic, Mando brought warmth, strength, and joy to everyone blessed to know him.

Mando loved the beauty of God's creation outdoors. Whether spent with a fishing rod in hand or out in the quiet early morning air on a hunt, his happiest moments were out in nature. An athlete through and through, he poured his heart into sports, competing in cross country, track events, and playing football. Above all other sports, baseball held the special place in his heart-there was nothing quite like the passion and joy he found stepping onto the field.

Beyond his athletic talents, Mando possessed a maturity and drive well beyond his years. He was a deeply dedicated and hard-working young man who took immense pride in working alongside his dad as well as running his own business welding, building fences, and taking on hard work without complaint.

At the center of Mando's life was his deeply loved family. He is survived by his devoted parents, Armando and Maria Alcantar; his loving siblings, Daisy and Jorge; and his grandparents, Rafael Gonzalez, Reyna Rodriguez, and Maria del Refugio Orocco. He is also survived by his uncles: Sergio, Alejandro, Oscar, Mario, and Heriberto Alcantar, and Rafael Gonzalez, Jr.; and his aunts, Teresa Alcantar, Esmerelda Alcantar, Adriana Resendiz, and Sughey Gonzalez, along with extended family and countless friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Mando was reunited in peace with his grandfather, Moises Alcantar, who preceded him in death.

Mando was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Montague, TX, and his faith brought him great peace and hope in eternal life. Mando's passing leaves many broken hearts, but we look forward to the day we are reunited with him in heaven.
