Forrest was a member of the Jean's Men's Bible Class and the Nocona Hills Community Church. he had attended East Texas Collage, and played football, while there, his team played in the Tangerine Bowl and won. which resulted in the team being in ducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1952. his love for football and continued throughout his life, he became a teacher and a coach. in later years he worked as a job coach through the school, helping students get jobs and mentoring them. .
